5 STEPS TO SPRING CLEAN YOUR BUSINESS (+ Bonus Tip!)

Flowers are blooming, birds are chirping, and my allergies are in full affect... Its officially SPRING! Here are 5 tips to Spring Clean your business!

1. Declutter your Mind

Have you ever heard the expression, "you can't fill a full gas tank"? The same is true with a full mind. If your head is teaming with great ideas - make time to WRITE THEM DOWN! Put a pen to paper and clear that head space. Write until your hand is tired. Then write some more. Schedule time during the week to write down your thoughts, force yourself to forget day to day tasks, and make room for prize-winning ideas.

2. Declutter your Environment

De-junk your office! Recycle loose paper, junk mail, and old magazines. Scan important documents and store a copy on the computer instead. Besides your obvious physical surroundings, declutter your digital environment. Clean up your desktop icons by deleting any apps or files that you don't use or need anymore. Only keep things that you will use again in the future and be sure to store them in a place you will be able to find again! UNSUBSCRIBE from emails that don't serve a purpose and you find yourself deleting (or not) time and time again.

3. Declutter your Contacts

In Real Estate terms, I am referring to your SOI/COI (Sphere/Circle of Influence). These people are your friends, family, past clients, leads, or anyone that you market your services to. In a perfect world, each contact would consist of at least 4 things: Name, Phone Number, Email, and

Address. To declutter your contacts, start with anyone that is missing one of the categories and then decide - is this person someone you want to continue to market to? If so, call them up and ask for their address or email. If not, remove them from your list and find a quality lead to replace them with.

4. Declutter your Social Networks

Social Networks (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter) are a great - and FREE - way to market your business and cultivate relationships. But it is important to check on your profile once in a while to make sure your

information is correct. You wouldn't want to miss a lead because you changed your email or phone number and didn't update your information!! Be sure to edit your bio and check that all links are functioning. Remove any tags of embarrassing or inappropriate memes or unflattering photos of yourself . Did you change your logo recently? Make sure your branding is fluid throughout all of your social media.

5. Declutter your Goals

Most people make new years resolutions at the beginning of the year, but often don't check in to see their progress. Spring is a great time to revisit your goals and make sure that they still complement the vision of your business. Has the concept of your business changed? If so, make sure your goals are realigned accordingly.

**Bonus Tip** Declutter your Transactions

Most Realtors didn't join the business to do paperwork. Real Estate Agents usually love getting in front of people, showing homes, and negotiating offers but suck at organization. In fact, some of them are the most unorganized people I know! If you can relate, there is no time like the present to declutter your transactions. Delete any half signed addenda, and only keep fully executed documents. Get all of those pesky deadlines on your calendar so you don't miss an important date. Better yet - hire a Transaction Coordinator to do this decluttering for you! Let us help you become SimplyCoordinated!
